Big time gap!

ODDSAC: A visual album by Animal Collective and Danny Perez.

Hello all, it’s been a while since my last post (I’ve been tweeting quite a bit though), so there’s lots to talk about. If you’ve been following my doings since the Helvetica era, you might have noticed that once the DVD for a film has come out, I go into a research-induced gray zone when I start working on the next film, and during which I don’t blog as much. Well, I’ve started work on my next documentary, the third piece of the design trilogy. But I’ve also been working on ODDSAC.

About 4 1/2 years ago, even before I’d even started making Helvetica, I started producing an experimental film with the band Animal Collective and filmmaker Danny Perez. The filmmaking process and the band’s schedule over the past few years resulted in a lengthy wait, but the film just premiered at the Sundance Film Festival and is now touring the world. See the ODDSAC website for a trailer and more info.

I also just returned from several weeks in Africa, where I attended the Design Indaba conference and did double-bill screenings of Objectified & Helvetica in Cape Town. Will post a full report with pictures soon.

And other news, Objectified is now available as an HD rental on iTunes in North America and the UK, and for download or rental on Amazon in the USA.
