In Between Days: An Online Gathering About Creativity, Technology and Change.

AI and new technologies are radically changing how ideas are made, shared, and valued. For many of us, it’s not just a new set of tools, it’s a disruption to our process, our livelihood, and our identity. And it’s unfolding alongside a wider sense of social and political instability. So how do we move forward from here, and where does creativity fit in?

At a moment when the rules are being rewritten, creativity matters more than ever. It’s not just self-expression; it’s how we process uncertainty and imagine alternatives. In Between Days brings together a multi-disciplinary group of artists and thinkers—designers, photographers, musicians, filmmakers, writers, and more—to explore how we can navigate the chaos of these days and reimagine the role of creativity in shaping what comes next. And we’ll showcase a group of artists finding ways to make meaningful, original work (digital and physical) in this new landscape. June 6 & 7. Register now or get more info.

New Short Film Coming Soon…

What Are People For is short documentary about human-centered and strategic design pioneer Patrick Whitney. My film is part of a larger project about Patrick’s legacy that includes a book designed by Rick Valicenti out this Fall, and programming in conversation with global business, design, and healthcare innovators over the next year.

I often joke that systems design is the least sexy design discipline, but it’s also the most important right now. From healthcare systems to governments to massive infrastructural challenges, the methods and frameworks of strategic design are critical tools to help solve some of humanity’s biggest problems. Patrick has been so influential as an educator, especially during his 30 years as dean of the Illinois Institute of Technology’s Institute of Design. Through research, advising, mentoring, and teaching multiple generations of designers, he has changed how design is understood, used, and taught around the world. But for the most part he’s worked out of the spotlight. This legacy project is an invitation for contemporary leaders to engage with his ideas and strategies for keeping humanity at the center of an increasingly complex future.

What Are People For will be premiering at the WDC 2026 Design Week in Frankfurt, Germany, June 6-7, 2026. RSVP for those screenings or get more information.
